Kara Ross translates her passion for contemporary art, literature and fashion into unique pieces of jewelry and most recently an exotic skin handbag collection.

Juxtaposing and melding modern shapes with the finest quality gemstones, Ms. Ross is able to create a rich, textured, layered, standout effect. For inspiration, she scours antique shows, flea markets, museums and galleries. Each shape that catches her eye becomes the springboard for yet another stunning, must-have piece. An eye for the best, and knowledge of the worldwide markets allows her to secure the finest cut stones and skins available, making each piece a true work of art.

A certified gemologist, Ms. Ross began designing fine jewelry over five years ago. The success of her jewelry collection has led her to her next venture; an exotic skin handbag line. Reflecting her jewelry collection, each clutch is accented with a semi-precious gemstone making it a jewel in itself. The collections are sold through Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus, Joyce, Browns and other high-end boutiques.

Kara Ross has been featured in top fashion magazines such as Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, W, Town & Country, InStyle and Elle, as well as on A-list celebrities including Oprah, Cameron Diaz, Charlize Theron, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Kate Beckinsdale and Eva Longoria. Top young Hollywood fashionistas like Lindsay Lohan, Mischa Barton and Nicole Richie have also been photographed wearing her jewels. Kara Ross has become a designer that is known for her modern twist on luxury fashion.

A graduate of Georgetown University, Ms. Ross sits on their Board of Regents, and is also involved with the photo acquisition committee at the Museum of Modern Art. She currently lives in Manhattan with her husband and four children.
